RAD Ballet and Cecchetti Syllabus
At our dance school, we offer the best of both worlds by providing training in both the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Cecchetti ballet methods, all under the guidance of registered and experienced instructors. This unique approach brings together the strengths and nuances of both esteemed ballet traditions, offering our students a well-rounded and comprehensive ballet education.
RAD Ballet Examinations
Engaging in ballet examinations offers children more than just dance skills; it’s a transformative journey fostering discipline, confidence, and mastery. These examinations provide a secure and safe setting for young dancers to measure their progress, instilling a sense of accomplishment and pride.
The discipline required for examinations not only enhances their dance technique but also becomes a transferable skill, benefiting them in school and the workplace. As they navigate the examination process, children develop confidence in their abilities and a keen sense of mastery, contributing to a well-rounded personal growth.
Moreover, examination students often emerge as ambassadors in their schools, taking on roles like Student Representative Council (SRC) representatives. This not only showcases their leadership but also underscores the broader impact of ballet examinations in shaping confident, disciplined, and capable individuals.
Here are the age requirements for RAD Ballet Examinations
Pointework
This highly skilled and physically demanding technique is a hallmark of classical ballet and allows for a stunning display of grace, strength, and precision.
To ensure a secure transition to pointework and in alignment with the guidelines set by Lisa Howell, students are required to meet specific requirements before they can begin their pointe training.
These prerequisites are designed to safeguard our students’ physical health and provide a strong foundation for pointe work. In some cases, additional approval by a physiotherapist may be necessary to ensure that students are physically ready to embark on this advanced stage of ballet training.
