Ashleigh Ross
Jazz Teacher
Ashleigh began her dance training in Coffs Harbour where she grew up within her mother’s studio. At the age of 17 she then went on to complete her Diploma in Musical Theatre and Commercial Dance at DLDC in Brisbane. Highlights of this year Ashleigh danced in the Countdown tour with Molly Meldrum, the Australian Fashion design awards and the Sydney Opera House.
After a year of full time dance she continued her love for teaching at various studios over Brisbane and while doing this went on to study Event Management where she received her Diploma. This lead to an internship at Disney World Florida where she moved and worked for one year, working on the Festival of the Lion King and in one of Disney’s deluxe resorts.
After moving back to Australia Ashleigh continued teaching and then decided to make the move home to help out at her mums studio. From 2013 to 2021 Ashleigh had managed JRDS, mentoring youth from 2 years old to adults. Ashleigh’s passion for dance and teaching has had such an impact on many who have stepped into the studio, some going on to a career in the performing arts.
In 2022 Ashleigh has taken over JRDS and stepped in as owner and Principal, she is also stepping into a new venture Orion Events which will be run alongside the studio.
Ashleigh is feeling invigorated to move forward to embrace her passion of dance, the arts and events and continue to build on the 30+ years of training, performance and community values that JRDS is recognised for.
